The large gardens are a real feature of this home with the private gravel drive leading to the large private and established formal gardens with lawns which include an area currently used as an informal tennis court. The house sits quite centrally in the grounds and there is a large orchard to the rear with established fruit trees as well as huge vegetable and soft fruit plots which include a greenhouse & shed. So for green fingered house buyers who want to live the good life and grow your own, this is a super plot. The house with the double bay frontage is typical of the period. High ceilings and large windows make the spacious house very light and bright throughout. The generous sized hallway features very attractive decorative original 1930's floor tiling . The staircase finished with classic simple spindles very much of the period. There are three very pleasant reception rooms, currently used as Sitting, Snug/TV and Study. The Sitting Room, recently redecorated has French windows leading to a further gravel and brick terrace area, as well as a deep bay window to the front and low stone fireplace with overhead heavy mantle beam and fitted with a cast iron wood burning stove.
The Snug/TV/Library Room again has a deep bay window and further window to the side & also features a fireplace this time fitted with a French style oil burning stove, as well as alcove bookshelving. Opposite the Kitchen is a really decent sized study/home office. With plenty of room for several desks and storage etc.
To the rear is a very large Kitchen Dining area considerably extended fairly recently .It now has a modern fitted kitchen with smart slate tiles in the work area with a large section to take a farmhouse style kitchen table having stripped pine floor with a Rayburn oil cooking range fitted into the chimney breast. French windows lead to the main garden terrace, a huge elevated area with space to hold large barbeques, parties etc. From the rear lobby is the utility room, almost another kitchen completely fitted with large butler sink and modern units which include larder slide outs etc. There is also a fitted microwave and electric built in oven, this obviously used as a back up the oil fired range in the main kitchen. Upstairs are four good sized double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has modern fitted wardrobes and an open ended partition wall leads around and into the very smart ensuite with luxurious fittings and double shower cubicle. The family bathroom also recently refitted with smart tiling to complement the period of the house. Outside are a whole row of garages and storage units needing just a little tlc to smarten them up but providing excellent storage and could possibly be used as either footprint or basis for an annexe conversion.
