This large stone building in the centre of the village of Tintern has been an established business for many years. It offers a wonderful opportunity for any new purchaser. With a centrally located entrance there are two distinct trading areas which work very well at present with a delightful tea room to the one side but still offering display space for selected items of the antiques on offer. Opposite the tea room is the main sales floor for the bulk of the antiques and collectables. Obviously this whole space could be used for this or perhaps alternative businesses. Perhaps a new restaurant or a larger tea room/coffee shop the alternatives are endless.  Certainly in a village very geared to tourism particularly in a climate where staying in Britain is becoming so fashionable the foot traffic is likely to be very good. The riverside location and so close to the medieval Abbey will always pull people. Coach loads of tourists arriving daily and after visiting the Abbey passing time by walking into the village to get coffees and spend holiday money. However even the locals love to use this type of facility.
The first floor is accessed via an internal staircase or via a private exterior gate and steps to  a particularly  large first floor apartment. The apartment is brimming with character and lots of period detail.
Virtually every room (other than the bathroom and box) has windows to the incredible views across the valley to the Abbey and the river below. The beautifully fitted country style kitchen is spacious and offers plenty of space to take a large farmhouse style table. The sitting room at the opposite end of the apartment is really quite a massive room with a stone fireplace with mantle beam and fitted with a woodburning stove. With a little work French windows could be fitted and a new section of floor added over the store room below to open directly from this sitting room to the terrace which would be a real bonus. Two bedrooms and a period bathroom all add up to generous accommodation and certainly make it possible for a way of life business.
If you have always wanted to run your own business and live over the shop perhaps saving all that commuting time you really have it all here with plenty of living & trading space. It could even be possible to separate both and let the lower section pay for your accommodation upstairs. Giving the owner an income to supplement a pension or even making mortgage free living a real possibility.
The terraced garden is quite a delight and surprisingly private with lawns and features which include a large pond and amazing elevated views, a great place to take the rays and enjoy a glass of wine each evening after a busy day below.
The current owners have been here for many years and now feel it is time to move on. We believe this property has great potential and really for any entrepreneur this is a super opportunity and we recommend you to view as soon as possible.

IN SUMMARY

This is a real opportunity for an entrepreneur. This building is in a prime location in a busy tourist village with a major pull of Tintern Abbey. The stunning scenery of the Wye Valley itself attracts tourists and also has passing trade of persons travelling from the A40/ A49 to use the M4 at Chepstow.
The trading areas are full of character, large, light spaces with views across to the Abbey and the river below. I could see this being a fabulous restaurant or tea rooms pulling in trade from Monmouth and Chepstow towns as well as the immediate vicinity. The tourists having looked around the Abbey always looking for ways to spend a little longer in the area.
The owner’s accommodation is surprisingly big and again full of character and provides an excellent home.
Such an opportunity just waiting to be taken up. Do go along and see the potential for yourself. In times like these why work for someone else when you can have your dream for no more than the average house price.
